Dorothy A Gomez, PhD, RN-CNE Dean, Leighton School of Nursing

Thank you for your interest in our second-degree Accelerated BSN program in Indianapolis. This highly accessible program follows a rigorous, effective sequence of online coursework and in-person practicum that allows qualified students to transition into the field of nursing in as few as 16 months.

Separate from the main Marian University campus, our dedicated ABSN program site on the Northwest side of Indianapolis gives us the capacity to be able to meet the accelerated learning needs of career changers. The site is home to support staff, expert nursing faculty, and licensed clinical instructors who are all dedicated to helping students graduate practice-ready, sought-after nurses.

While there are other nursing schools in and around Indianapolis, our Leighton School of Nursing affords a faith-based, student-centered education within a close-knit, supportive learning environment. And, through our accredited curriculum, Franciscan values, and clinical partnership with St. Vincent, we provide the academic foundation, clinical skills, and character qualities that are necessary to become transformational leaders in nursing.

Therefore, if you can’t wait to become a nurse, there is no better place than our accelerated nursing school to earn your degree. After all, health care employers in Indianapolis and across the country place high value on the expertise and dedication our graduates bring to the nursing workforce—which brings a great sense of pride to everyone at the Leighton School of Nursing.

I welcome you to the Marian University family and wish you the best in pursuing your nursing degree through accelerated study.

Sincerely,

Dorothy A Gomez, PhD, RN-CNE
