Marian University Leighton School of Nursing NCLEX Pass Rate

After graduating from our accelerated nursing program in Indiana, you will need to take and pass the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-RN) to earn your registered nurse license, which is required to be able to pursue a professional nursing career.

Our ABSN program in Indianapolis provides a foundations for students to have a successful nursing careers. And this starts by preparing you for the NCLEX. We have students complete the Kaplan® NCLEX Test Prep to help give them an extra boost of confidence on exam day. In fact, our Leighton School of Nursing BSN NCLEX pass rates for first-time test takers are consistently equal to or above the national average.

  • 2016 NCLEX pass rate = 87.94% (National rate = 87.80%)
  • 2015 NCLEX pass rate = 93.40% (National rate = 87.49%)
  • 2014 NCLEX pass rate = 86.12% (National rate = 84.93%)

About the NCLEX-RN Exam

Administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc., the NCLEX-RN exam helps to ensure nursing school graduates across the country have what it takes to provide safe, effective nursing care at the entry level.

Completed via computer at a designated test center, the NCLEX-RN exam can include up to 265 questions, with the majority being in a multiple-choice format. With a time limit of six hours, the exam covers the following topic areas.

  • Physiological Integrity
  • Safe and Effective Care Environment
  • Psychosocial Integrity
  • Health Promotion and Maintenance
