Dorothy Gomez, Ph.D., RN-CNE
Dean, Leighton School of Nursing

Dr. Gomez carries out several key responsibilities as the dean of our nursing school, which includes providing leadership and guidance to faculty and staff, monitoring nursing education trends, participating in health care research, maintaining our accreditation standards, and ensuring we adhere to all federal and state regulations.

She holds a BSN from the University of Miami, an MSN in adult health/critical care, and a Ph.D. in nursing from Loyola University Chicago. Her affiliations include the Emergency Nurses Association; the Hektoen Institute of Medicine, Nurses and the Humanities; and the National League of Nursing.

Jean Bandos, MSN, RN, CNS
Director of Online Programs

Jean joined Marian University in 2011, having previously served as the research director and developer for an older adult knowledge management and decision support system. She also has an extensive background in nursing, having cared for patients in a variety of settings, from hospitals to home care. She has an ADN from Western Kentucky University, a BSN from the College of St. Francis, and an MSN in adult health from Indiana University.

Trinity Firth
Site Director

Trinity is responsible for meeting admission goals of the ABSN program site and ensuring our admissions processes are within regulatory compliance. With more than 10 years of experience working in higher education, she plays an integral role in student recruitment and retention. She holds a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications and news broadcasting from Ball State University.

Tameria Cox, MSN, RN, CMSRN, C-CDIS
Director of Nursing Academic Services

Tameria works to ensure the continuous improvement of our student-centered learning experiences, including laboratory practicum and clinical rotations. She is a highly experienced nurse leader with a strong track record of success, having previously worked for St. Vincent in adult health.

She holds a BSN from Marian University and an MSN with a concentration in health administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. She also has certification in medical-surgical nursing and clinical documentation. Tameria earned her doctorate degree with a focus on organization and nursing leadership from the University of Southern Indiana.
