Not all students in our accelerated nursing program in Indianapolis are from Indiana. Many students have relocated to the area to earn their nursing degree.

Indianapolis is home to Marian University’s partner, St.Vincent Health. St.Vincent Health is the state’s largest healthcare employer, with 20 locations serving central and southern Indiana. The St.Vincent Health system includes the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, the St.Vincent Heart Center of Indiana, the St.Vincent Women’s Hospital in Indianapolis and many more highly ranked facilities.
On top of its fantastic network of hospitals, Indianapolis was listed in the nation’s top five for cities with the happiest young professionals by Forbes in 2012!
Affordable Cost of Living
Worried about finances as you begin your nursing career? Forbes ranked Indianapolis one of the top ten most affordable cities in the nation in 2011. Even though Indianapolis is the nation’s eleventh largest city, it remains easy on the bank account while offering a lot of career opportunity. According to the National Association of Home Builders, Indianapolis is 10 percent below the national average for cost of living in the United States.
The Indianapolis area also fares well when it comes to quality of life. Four Indianapolis suburbs rank in the Top 100 Best Places to Live by Money Magazine. Carmel, Indiana (home to some of St.Vincent’s facilities), was ranked the number one best place to live by CNN Money.

Home of seven professional sports teams including the Indianapolis Colts, Indianapolis lays claim to the world’s first and second largest single-day sporting events – the Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400. Indianapolis is also the home of many top-ranked cultural attractions like The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
