Accelerated BSN Program Overview
Nurses are in high demand across the country. If you want to become a nurse, there is no better time than now to change your career to nursing. Marian University – Indianapolis’ Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program is designed for students with a previous bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field. If you qualify, you could graduate with a BSN degree in as few as 16 months.
With three program starts per year and a high enrollment capacity for qualified applicants, our 16-month accelerated nursing program for non-nurses takes the wait out of starting nursing school. While demanding and fast-paced, the online-based, second-degree BSN program provides the academic foundation and clinical skills required to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam and pursue a rewarding career in nursing.
How the ABSN Program Works
By leveraging your non-nursing bachelor’s degree, we make it possible for you to graduate with a quality BSN degree in as few as 16 months. Keep in mind, however, before qualifying for the ABSN program, you must complete several nursing prerequisite courses—which can be completed online through Marian’s Adult Programs.
During the full-time, four-semester accelerated nursing program, you will complete a rigorous blend of online and on-site coursework—all framed within faith-based values.
- Online nursing theory courses let you attend class anytime, anywhere.
- On-site nursing simulation labs provide hands-on learning with faculty in a simulated clinical setting. These labs occur at our ABSN Learning Site in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Clinical rotations at Ascension St. Vincent offers diverse patient care experiences.
Due to the intensity of the program, it is best to view your nursing education as a full-time job. You will need to put a lot of time and energy into your courses, but just remember we are here to help you keep pace every step of the way.
