Have you ever wondered - where do nurses come from? Well, wonder no more. Here are five examples of people who went back to school to become a nurse.

Nurses come from all different backgrounds. Some people know that they want to be a nurse when they first start school while others go back to school later in life to become a nurse. With Marian University’s Accelerated BSN program in Indianapolis, we see a lot of career switchers. These people have chosen one career and decide to go back to school to become a nurse.

Patrick & Katie

Patrick went to Wabash College where he studied music and religion. He was a music director for a few years before deciding to go back to school to become a nurse.

Katie went to Texas A&M for zoology and worked as a zoo keeper for a few years. Katie is now excited to study nursing at Marian University. Watch their stories on their nursing journey below:

Shaw

Shaw went to art school where she studied video, film and sound design at Savannah College of Art and Design. Cory & Grace

Cory went to school for PR at Indiana State and was then in the US Army for four years.

Grace studied movement and sports sciences at Purdue. After taking some time off to be a stay-at-home parent, she went back to school to become a nurse.
