Accelerated Nursing Information Session

Marian University for St.Vincent Health's accelerated nursing program in Indianapolis proudly kicks off our summer nursing information sessions with two special guests on June 20, 2013. This special 45-minute session will start at 11:30 am at the Marian University ABSN site at 9002 Purdue Road, Suite 300, Indianapolis, IN 46268.

Our first guest is Jane Whinnery, RN, MS HCM, BSM, FNE, who directs the trauma program at St.Vincent Indianapolis Hospital.

After earning her nursing degree at Indiana University, Jane worked bedside and emergency services before returning to school for her bachelor's and master's degrees from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Jane's nursing journey spans almost thirty years, and she will share her wisdom with those considering a nursing career.  Jane will explain trauma care and designations and how all critical care units interact to support these services.

Also joining our session is Preston Meng, RN, BSN, who completed our accelerated BSN program in 2011. Preston works in the emergency room at St.Vincent Indianapolis Hospital. Preston earned his first bachelor's degree in marketing and communications from Purdue University. After a successful career, Preston was seeking something with greater job security and flexibility for his young family.

Learn why and how Preston made the career change to nursing.

This public information session is open to anyone considering a career in nursing who holds or is working towards a bachelor's degree in a non-nursing field. Feel free to bring your spouse, parents and others in your support network.

If you know someone else considering a career change to become a nurse, feel free to share this link. Our second-degree accelerated nursing program affords career changers and recent grads the opportunity to become a nurse in 16 months.

Send your RSVP to Kris Shallenberger at [email protected] or calling us at 866.892.6463.
