Our first class at our new Nashville campus has started!
Marian University at Saint Thomas Health welcomed its inaugural class of nursing students in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 12, 2014. These students will graduate in just 16 months and be prepared to sit for the NCLEX-RN, to become licensed registered nurses.
It's no surprise that this class includes diverse backgrounds, as there is no average student in our second degree program. Our first class includes students who relocated from California, Pennsylvania and Texas.
This new cohort is made up of recent grads and experienced professionals. More than half of the new students graduated with their first degree within the past two years. The majority of our students prefer to stay close to home, as 61 percent earned their first degree at a Tennessee school. 56 percent of our new students graduated with biology or psychology degrees, but our other students have degrees ranging from agricultural science to religion to exercise science to computers.
Our students are sure to bring a lot of great experience and knowledge to the accelerated nursing program as they blaze the trail in Nashville.
