Dorothy A Gomez, PhD, RN-CNE Dean, Leighton School of Nursing

Thank you for your interest in our second-degree ABSN program in Nashville, Tennessee, for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree in another field. This highly accessible program follows a rigorous, effective sequence of online coursework and in-person practicum that allows qualified students to transition into a nursing career in as few as 16 months.

Serving as a satellite campus location for Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana, our ABSN program site in Tennessee meets the accelerated learning needs of career changers in the Nashville metropolitan area. Located inside Saint Thomas West Hospital, the ABSN program site is home to support staff, expert nursing faculty, and licensed clinical instructors who are all committed to helping students graduate.

While there are other nursing programs in and around Nashville, we provide a faith-based education within a close-knit, supportive learning environment. And, through our accredited curriculum, Saint Thomas Health partnership, and Franciscan values, we provide students with the knowledge, skills, and character qualities that are required for becoming a transformational leader in nursing.

Therefore, if you can’t wait to become a nurse, there is no better place than our accelerated program to earn your BSN degree. After all, health care employers in Nashville and around the country place high value on the expertise and dedication our graduates bring to the nursing workforce.

Once again, thank you for considering Marian University for your nursing education. I look forward to you becoming part of our close-knit university family and wish you all the best in pursuing your BSN through accelerated study.
